Commenting on today’s Scottish Government Programme for Government, SCDI’s Chief Executive, Sara Thiam, said:
“Today’s PfG marks a significant step by Scotland in tackling the global climate emergency. As it also recognises, businesses need to play a leading role. SCDI’s soon to be launched clean growth group will actively pursue how we drive the innovations and technologies that the announcement of the Green New Deal will support.
“The announcement of ambitious new measures to decarbonise transport connectivity is positive. The Scottish Government needs to uphold its commitments to improve Scotland’s transport infrastructure and grow the economy, while doing so in way which is consistent with progress towards net zero and innovations in mobility.
“We welcome the commitment to develop an innovative and ethical national AI strategy, which we and our partners have been championing. Our Rural Commission will publish their recommendations next week on how to maximise the rural economy, and we believe that these will help to deliver on the rural priorities identified in the PfG.”
