Ocean Winds is grounded on the strength of two global brands in combination – EDP Renewables and ENGIE.
The 50-50 joint venture has a proven UK market track record of delivery in the Moray Firth with the Moray East project, Scotland’s largest offshore windfarm. Of similar scale, the Moray West is now in construction having secured a CfD at £37.35/ MWh for part of the project capacity with additional generation capacity contracted to a major corporate purchaser of power. The recently secured Caledonia project has a target capacity of 2 GW and is on track to deliver further economic continuity for the region.
Using the expertise from the adjacent projects will allow Ocean Winds to move rapidly to deliver the next major contribution to carbon reduction and the transition to a green economy. By continuing the existing mature relationships with all relevant stakeholders, Ocean Winds is confident of rapid progress to unlock the opportunities in Caledonia.
