SCDI Appoints New Membership Director

Maria Campbell joins the SCDI Senior Management Team on the 16th November, as Director of Membership and Stakeholder Engagement, where she will take a key role in widening and deepening SCDI’s membership at a time when business and civil society are coming together as never before to shape Scotland’s economy for the better.

Maria comes to SCDI from Webhelp, a global BPO company which represents over 500 major brands in 36 countries, where she specialised in B2B content marketing and thought leadership, after undertaking a variety of national stakeholder management and campaign delivery roles with the Scottish Government.

With a decade of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, media and PR, with companies as diverse as Newsquest, Strathclyde University and NHS Scotland, Maria also had the distinction of delivering ‘Engage’ – Scotland’s very first social platform to allow the public direct access to Ministers.

So far, her most unusual day at work was with Organ Donation Scotland, where she got the chance to witness a life-changing kidney transplant – and managed not to faint in the operating room!

Maria will be normally based in Glasgow, however she is looking forward to traveling across Scotland to meet our members in person, when current restrictions allow.
