We’re the people that make the net work.
As the nation’s digital network, we’re in every community – from Shetland to the Solway Firth – to deliver the connections that matter to Scotland.
Our wholesale broadband network – the nation’s largest – supports hundreds of retail service providers like BT, SKY, TalkTalk, Vodafone and Zen to provide broadband, TV, phone, data and mobile services to their customers.
Right now, we’re investing £15bn to build a new Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband network to 25 million UK homes and businesses in the next few years.
We’ve already reached more than 900,000 Scottish properties – from homes, schools and GP surgeries to shops, hotels and businesses of all kinds – and we’re upgrading thousands more every month.
Our digital network is vital to securing Scotland’s prosperity. Cebr research shows delivering full fibre broadband to everyone in Scotland would deliver a £4.5 billion boost to the economy.
Ultrafast connectivity opens up new opportunities for businesses and public services, enabling Scots to show their renowned entrepreneurial spirit in a digital context.
The benefits are magnified for the SMEs that are the backbone of the Scottish economy, providing the digital enabler for people to be creative and innovative in a world which is literally at their fingertips.
Our new network will help people to work where they live and dramatically cut emissions, saving up to 300 million UK commuter trips every year.
Our build covers rural and urban areas alike, and we’re also upgrading the hardest-to-reach places through our contracts with the Scottish Government.
