We set up the first missions to the USSR, China and the United States, and following the UK’s exit from the European Union, we revived our International Business Committee, which identified actions to support our economy through trade and cooperation with the EU.

International Business Committee

In the post-Brexit era, it is more important than ever that Scotland’s international trade ambitions are realised, and that mutually beneficial trade and investment conditions are established via cooperation with the European Union. With our international work, Prosper seeks to represent our members and partners to develop inter-regional and international trade.

Our trade and investment work is guided by our International Business Committee. With a membership spanning trade bodies, enterprise agencies and exporting businesses, the committee’s collective expertise guides and influences policy proposals on all aspects of trade and inward investment.

Prosper sits on the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) Domestic Advisory Group and Civil Society Forum. It gave evidence to the recent European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Information report: The implementation of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement, including the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland.
