We are delighted to bring a change of scenery to our South of Scotland event. At this event we will step away from the usual online format and allow our members to experience, first-hand, the inner workings of The Borders Distillery.
At this we will hear from John Fordyce, The Borders Distillery, about his journey of setting up a new business, and how he implemented strategies and processes which have improved productivity and efficiency. We will focus on the working processes and how these shape organisational goals and objectives.
John Fordyce, Co-Founder and Managing Director, The Borders Distillery Company Limited
After graduating from Glasgow University John joined Coats and worked in Brazil, Portugal, Congo, Mauritius, New Zealand and Venezuela. In 1994, John joined William Grant & Sons, and in 1997 he moved to Hong Kong to run their Asia Pacific business . In 2004 John moved to Portugal where he ran his own business developing premium wine and olive oil brands. In 2013 John returned to Scotland to establish, with three friends, The Borders Distillery Company. The Borders Distillery began operations on the 6th March 2018, becoming the first to distil Scotch Whisky since 1837. The Distillery makes Single Malt Scotch Whisky and using a Carter Head Still makes William Kerr’s Gin and Puffing Billy Steam Vodka
There will also be the opportunity to network and hear from other businesses, just like yours, about their own experiences and challenges.
This event will also include a distillery tour where you can experience a behind-the-scenes look at some of the day-to-day processes.
