In Conversation with..., Scotland’s Future

In Conversation with the Tay Cities

Dundee

Open to All

Ensuring our thinking is informed by regional realities and ambitions is critical to SCDI’s mission. Our regional Committees in the North East, Highlands and Islands and South of Scotland shape our thinking but we’re conscious that we haven’t engaged as actively as we’d like to with our members and partners in Dundee, Tayside and Fife.

Why come?

We all have a part to play in building a prosperous Scotland. Progress happens by bringing together people from all walks of life who have the drive and influence to make positive change. SCDI is Scotland’s only cross-sector organisations which convenes leaders from government, business and civil society. Our members include large employers and SMEs, local authorities, public bodies, colleges and universities, cultural institutions, charities and social enterprises, trade unions, trade and professional bodies. Think of it as all the best minds in the economy under one roof sharing knowledge, ideas and building connections across sectors and geographies.

What’s the purpose of the event?

  • Our work programme will be shaped by your priorities and the  innovative work you are leading and we’ll be better able to represent your views in our regular dialogue with Scottish and UK governments
  • We’ll understand your contribution to our vision for Scotland’s economy – Scotland’s economic purpose, Scotland as a living lab for innovation, learning throughout life and healthy places to live and work
  • We’ll understand how you are delivering against Scottish (NSET) and UK government (levelling up, growth deals) priorities
  • You’ll understand how our work can add value to your activities
    • Our Business Purpose Commission has found that those businesses whose thinking extends beyond narrow economic success to deliver better social and environmental outcomes
    • Our peer-to-peer learning clubs designed to help small businesses and other organisations improve their productivity
    • Our award-winning schools outreach to grow the next generation of young engineers and scientists
  • To inform our future events in Tayside and Fife and keeping the conversation going whilst adding value to the work being done locally

Who is the event for?

The event will convene leaders from government, business and civil society. From large employers and SMEs, local authorities, public bodies, colleges and universities, cultural institutions, charities and social enterprises, trade unions, trade and professional bodies.

We hope you will be able to join us and we look forward to seeing you there.
