Growing Your Business with AI

9:00am
Aberdeen Douglas Hotel
Aberdeen

Open to All, Peer Works

This session will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support small and medium-sized businesses in practical, cost-effective ways.

Susan Craw, Emeritus Professor in Artificial Intelligence at Robert Gordon University will talk about Case-Based Reasoning, a type of AI that solves problems by learning from past experiences. It’s flexible, explainable, and well-suited to the fast-changing challenges SMEs often face. You’ll hear how it’s been used in areas like smart homes, product design, and music streaming, with partners ranging from social enterprises to major industry players.

We’ll also hear from Dr Douglas Leith, Chief Intelligence Officer at COMET, who will share how the business uses AI both in their products and behind the scenes to improve development and marketing. He’ll offer inspiration, highlight what’s possible, and share lessons learned – including common challenges and how to avoid them.

Whether you’re just starting with AI or looking to scale its use, this session will give you practical insights and ideas tailored to SME needs.
