How to Survive in a Changing Job Market

5:00pm
Craig Centre for Performing Arts
Aberdeen

Open to All

The future of hiring will be transferable skills, not experience, but where can you hone new skills?

This panel will explore the barriers and solutions to delivering a skills system that is fit for the future. The discussion will also consider how society can better value all educational pathways, celebrate learners’ successes across the spectrum, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive in Scotland’s changing economy. We invite educators, skills and training providers, employers, and young people in education to join the conversation.

Scotland is facing acute skills shortages across key industries such as construction and renewable energy – sectors that can provide promising careers while building a future-proofed society and providing economic growth. Scotland’s education system must adapt to prepare learners for tomorrow’s demands. Options include reskilling through colleges, universities, and private providers. Society needs flexible programmes that meet industry and learners’ needs.
