A Scottish single track road with passing places at Hushinish on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides

A New Beginning

Following a unanimous vote in favour of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), SCDI is able to continue to trade and grow for the benefit of all our stakeholders including our employees and other creditors. This marks a new beginning for SCDI as Scotland starts to rebuild its economy. We remain unique in uniting public, private and third sector organisations in a shared mission of achieving economic prosperity for Scotland. We are delighted to be able to continue our important work with and for our members, at a time when our broad convening power has never been more important.

Our reshaped team will continue to deliver high-quality events and thought leadership activity as we have done throughout the pandemic. We launch our 10 year vision and strategy for Scotland’s economy – the Blueprint – in May. In the meantime we look forward to seeing you at one of our events. Our Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards are back in June and we’re very much hoping to be able to see you in person at Forum in September. In the meantime please do not hesitate to contact one of our membership team if you’d like to discuss how we can showcase the great things you are doing, help with stakeholder engagement or research and thought leadership.

We have been at the heart of the conversation about a better economy for Scotland for 90 years and look forward to leading those conversations as we build on Scotland’s strengths to make a global contribution.
